Alex Epperly obtained his Bachelors of Arts degree from West Virginia State University in Institute, West Virginia and then continued his education by attending a combined Physician Assistant Masters of Science program at Mountain State University in Beckley, WV earning his MPAS and a second Bachelors in Medical Science. He worked as an EMT prior to attending graduate school and completed the program in 2012. He is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Alex joined South Charleston Dermatology in January of 2024 and has been solely practicing dermatology since graduating. Alex has attended Advanced suturing and wound repair workshops, as well as completing a Dermatology Training program by USF Health. Alex provides a broad range of adult and pediatric dermatologic services from routine skin cancer screenings and care of common skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, to biopsies and removal of skin lesions, warts and skin cancers and MOHs closures. Alex is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and has completed the Diplomate program. Traveled to El Salvador twice to implement sponsorship programs to work with needy children, 2011 and 2009. Conducted lessons plans and encouraged children to attend school. Served as Member of Clinical Team attending to patients in a Southeast Asian orphanage with 3,200 children, 2006. Most recently traveled to Kenya serving with Passion to Heal delivering dermatology care.
